Corners and edges.
Mercedes-AMG G 63
If the appearance of a vehicle has hardly changed for more than three decades, but its popularity remains unbroken, that says something about its character. Unmistakable, sovereign, unobtrusive – as well as highly dynamic and reliable: the AMG G63 is a personality with corners and edges. Its interior shows that comfort does not have to be left on the side of the road.
Which road? That does not matter to the AMG G 63, because it loves every terrain. Its 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine gratefully takes on every challenge to master it just as convincingly. Because only in this way are corners and edges made round.

Smoothed out of the wind tunnel? Negative. The design of the G-Class demonstrates timeless distinction. The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is a part of this tradition, setting its own accents with subtle design modifications. Its face is characterized by the AMG radiator grille with duel disc and four chrome inserts, as well as prominent bumpers with large air intakes. Another feature that is characteristic for the AMG model is the fender flares. Optional stainless steel running boards and protective strips on the sides containing inserts with a brushed aluminum look complement the exclusive exterior. Other signs of distinction – and clear indications of the expected lap times – are the "V8 BITURBO" lettering on the front fenders and the Mercedes-AMG G 63 nameplate on the rear door. Red brake calipers and – available for the first time – 20-inch wheels round off the expressive exterior.

The brake calipers are painted red around the entire circumference, and are also available in silver.

Driving through rough terrain does not have to require giving up on luxury. On the contrary: the Mercedes-AMG G 63 turns any terrain into a sophisticated driving experience. A large part of this is played by the interior. It impresses with high-quality fittings and extravagant accents that reflect the performance of the Mercedes-AMG G 63. When entering, white illuminated door sill panels made of stainless steel with AMG lettering deliver the greeting. The decorative elements made of real wood and the leather-clad gearshift stand out, as does the newly designed dashboard with the AMG instrument cluster -- which has a 280 km/h display and welcomes you with an AMG start-up screen. In both categories, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 has more than enough to offer: from its highly efficient AMG 5.5-Liter V8 biturbo engine, it draws 420 kW (571 hp) and generates a maximum torque of 760 Newton meters, which gives it outstanding pulling power. Its AMG chassis is equipped with special coil springs and shock absorbers to convert the power of the engine into agile handling without compromising its off-road capability. AMG 5.5-Liter-V8-Biturbo Engine.
The performance of the twin-turbocharged AMG 5.5-Liter V8 engine has been nudged up to 420 kW (571 hp), with maximum torque remaining at 760 Nm. Unchanged is the vehicle’s effortless performance, with the Mercedes-AMG G 63 accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and peaking at a top speed of 210 km/h (electronically limited).
Before the twin-turbocharged AMG engine was fitted in the G-Class, numerous modifications and developments were necessary in the area of the powertrain, chassis and brake system. The oil sump provides reliable lubrication in all operating situations, while boost air temperature is reduced by an engine-mounted air-to-water intercooler and two front-mounted low-temperature coolers. A powerful electric suction fan keeps the coolant temperature in the correct range at all times.
