The axial flux motor in the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé proves that a high-tech drivetrain "Made in Germany" can still make all the difference in the electric age. The electric motors used by other vehicles have been around since the 19th century. An axial flux motor has much more power and is far more durable than a conventional electric motor, while also being two-thirds lighter and smaller. The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé has three of these motors on board, delivers more horsepower than an AMG ONE, and weighs less than some sports cars with V8 plug-in hybrid.

CHARGING NEARLY AS FAST AS REFUELLING
With its direct-cooled battery, the Mercedes-AMG 4-Door Coupé can drive for an exceptionally long time at maximum power and absorb the maximum amount of energy at the charging point for longer. That's why the sports car can easily drive from Stuttgart to Milan without a stopover. Once you arrive, you can treat yourself to a double espresso in 10 minutes while, depending on the type of charging point, the car quickly tops up enough energy for 400 to 500 km for the return journey.

Thanks to its unique, oil-cooled battery cells, developed using our Formula 1 expertise, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé delivers explosive acceleration whilst handling sustained motorway driving without any loss of power – regardless of the battery’s condition. With 375 kW over 30 minutes, the vehicle delivers a level of performance that its electric rivals cannot match, proving that this sustained power output is no theory. In practice, this means twice the power compared to other powerful electric vehicles on the market.

The new AMG GT 4-Door is like a Transformer that adapts to any driving situation in a flash. The AEROKINETICS active rear diffuser ensures optimised aerodynamic balance, whilst the AEROKINETICS Airpanel air management system ensures ideal control of the cooling airflow – and both thus ensure minimal drag and maximum range. And the AEROKINETICS Venturi Flow generates astonishing downforce via two panels in the underbody that lower automatically. The result: excellent traction, impressive directional stability and outstanding cornering speeds.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door combines racing DNA with long-distance comfort in the interior. Behind the wheel, this high-performance vehicle feels like a racing car, with 100 per cent driver focus and a low seating position, just as you’d expect in a supercar. In contrast, the rear is a true oasis of comfort, allowing you to enjoy the range of around 700 km in complete relaxation. The headroom beneath the panoramic roof is, quite literally, outstanding. While the legroom is also extremely generous – thanks to the “foot garage”, a clever recess in the battery that provides the seating comfort of a luxury saloon.

QUALITY MADE IN GERMANY
The new AMG GT 4-Door is a 100 per cent AMG in-house development: Made in Germany and Born in Affalterbach. The sports car combines a level of performance never before seen even in the history of Mercedes-AMG with the traditional strengths for which the brand has always stood. The vehicle provided impressive proof of its quality, safety and durability at the Nardò test track, where it covered 40,000 km at an average speed of 300 km/h in less than 8 days. This equates to approximately three years' worth of everyday use. At the end of the test, the battery still retained 96 per cent of its capacity.
