It is considered one of the greatest motorsport events in the world: the ADAC TOTAL 24h Race at the Nürburgring. Like no other circuit, the track in the Eifel stands for thrilling motorsport and unforgettable moments just as much as for bitter defeats and tragedies.
As the longest permanent race track in the world, the Nordschleife alone stretches over 20.832 merciless kilometres. With 73 bends and a difference in altitude of 300 metres, it demands utmost concentration and skill.
In 2021, the endurance race in the "Green Hell" celebrated its 49th edition, which went down in history as the shortest-ever race due to an interruption of more than 14.5 hours. Across 125 vehicles from a wide range of classes, a total of 400 drivers competed in the event. For Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, the turbulent 24 hours ended with a podium and two additional top-ten finishes. The most successful GT3 from Affalterbach was the #7 of Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed: Maximilian Götz, Daniel Juncadella and Raffaele Marciello took third place overall in a thrilling dash to the chequered flag.
