The powerful AMG body styling ensures a dynamic appearance from any angle. With a front apron specific to the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 including front splitter in silver chrome, rear apron with diffuser in high-gloss black as well as AMG-specific side sill panels, it lends the vehicle an unmistakable character.

As a standard the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 comes with 19-inch (48.3 cm) AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels in titanium gray with a high-sheen finish, with tires of size 255/35 R 19 at the front and 285/30 R 20 at the rear.
Optionally, 19/20-inch (48.3/50.8 cm) AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, painted titanium gray with polished surface or in matte black and rim flange with high-sheen finish are available. Moreover both variants feature fully integrated wheel bolt covers.

AMG Night Package:
With striking exterior design elements in high-gloss black, the AMG Night Package underscores the sporty, expressive character of the vehicle. The front splitter and A-wing trim strip are finished in high-gloss black. The same finish is applied to the flics for improved cooling air guidance as well as the fins on the front wings and hood. The appearance of the side view is characterized by the exterior mirror housing in high-gloss black as well as the insert in the side sill panel in a corresponding finish. The exciting rear end of the vehicle is defined by the AMG-specific rear apron with trim in high-gloss black as well as the two black chrome-plated twin tailpipe trim elements of the AMG sports exhaust system.

AMG Sports Exhaust System.
The emotional AMG-typical V8 sound of the AMG sports exhaust system is particularly powerful when accelerating and during double declutching. At constant speed the noise level is more reserved. Two chrome-plated twin tailpipe trim elements create a visually striking highlight.
AMG High-Performance Compound Brake System.
The AMG high-performance compound brake system is characterized by optimum deceleration performance, precise pressure points and high fatigue strength. To compensate better for thermal peaks, the particularly heavy-duty discs on the front axle make use of motorsport-proven compound technology. All brake discs are internally ventilated and perforated. The braking system features a compound brake disc measuring 390 x 36 mm in diameter, a 6-piston fixed caliper at the front axle, and an integral brake disc measuring 360 x 26 mm in diameter with single-piston floating caliper at the rear axle.
By request, the brake calipers of this braking system are available in red.
Optionally, the AMG ceramic high-performance compound brake system with black "AMG Carbon Ceramic" logo on the bronze-colored brake calipers is available. Basic advantages include a higher degree of hardness and approximately 40 percent lower weight. Even during times of highest stress, such as on the race track, the braking performance remains consistently high (fading stability).

As an optional extra for the Mercedes-AMG SL 63, the driver can decide for the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/ DINAMICA microfiber. For an even better grip during sporty maneuvers, the grip area on the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather is finished in DINAMICA microfiber. AMG-specific shift paddles in bead-blasted die-cast zinc and a chrome-plated "AMG" badge round off the sporty design.
AMG Instrument Cluster.
The AMG instrument cluster offers an exciting AMG design and valuable information for sporty drivers. The AMG main menu including RACETIMER and the AMG start-up screen are shown in high resolution and in color on the central 11.4 cm TFT multifunction display. Exclusivity and sportiness are visually underscored by the speedometer with 320 km/h dial and AMG logo as well as the AMG-specific design. With the RACETIMER it is possible to measure and store lap times.
AMG DRIVE UNIT.
With its controls, the AMG DRIVE UNIT is the control center for the sports transmission as well as all driving dynamics functions. The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT controller allows the driver to select the modes for engine, transmission, suspension and steering. The driver can change between transmission settings R, N and D by nudging the AMG E-SELECT lever. When the vehicle is stationary, the "Park" position is activated by simply pressing the "P" button. The “M” button is used to activate manual mode, in which gear changes are made using the steering wheel gearshift paddles. The AMG DRIVE UNIT also includes separate buttons for selecting the ESP® modes.
The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 scores with a fascinating expression as well as a convincing performance. AMG 5.5-Liter-V8-Biturbo Engine.
The AMG V8 biturbo engine with a displacement of 5.5 liters combines high-tech components such as petrol direct injection with piezo injectors, all-aluminum crank case, twin turbochargers, four valves per cylinder with camshaft adjustment, air/water intercooling, alternator management and an ECO Start/Stop function. In an ample torque curve, up to 900 Nm of torque are available between 2250 and 3750 rpm, while maximum output reaches 430 kW (585 hp). The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and easily continues its sprint to electronically limited 250 km/h. Or to remarkable 300 km/h if the optional AMG Driver’s Package is chosen.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-Speed Sports Transmission.
With seven gears as well as RACE START and double-declutching functions, this transmission allows extremely dynamic acceleration and ultra-short shift times as well as a fuel-saving driving style. Consistent further development of hardware and software has made it possible to further optimize the reaction times. This means that the driver's shift commands can be carried out faster than ever before. Depending on the preferred driving style, the driver has a choice between an efficient and comfortable setting in transmission mode "C" (Comfort), a brisk and sporty style in "S" (Sport) and "S+" (Sport Plus), Race or manual style in "M." Gearshifts are executed with virtually no interruption in tractive power. Ultra-fast, responsive multiple downshifts are another forte of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. For instance, kickdown allows the driver to shift down directly from seventh to fourth gear or from fifth to second. The RACE START function supports optimal acceleration from rest or from the starting line in motorsport events.
AMG Sport Suspension.
The AMG sport suspension combines superb agility and stability with the ride comfort that is the hallmark of Mercedes-Benz. The steering knuckles and spring links of the 4-link front axle are made out of aluminum, as are virtually all the suspension parts of the multi-link independent rear suspension. The reduction in the unsprung masses benefits not only the agility of the vehicle but also the response of the spring and damper elements. At the touch of a button it is possible to select either a more obviously sporty characteristic curve with reduced roll angles and firmer body damping ("Sport"), or a more comfort-oriented setting for exceptional comfort on long journeys ("Comfort"). Added agility and faster speeds when cornering are possible thanks to the AMG sport suspension's negative camber all around and completely revised elastokinematics.
AMG Rear-Axle Differential Lock.
The mechanically controlled AMG rear-axle limited-slip differential provides improved traction in every driving situation, especially when the driver adopts a sporty driving style. This is done by reducing the slip on the inside driven wheel.
In contrast to a conventional differential, the AMG rear-axle limited-slip differential uses multi-disc clutches and two thrust rings. If a difference in the rotational speed of the driven wheels arises, the clutch redistributes the drive torque to the wheel with the better traction and avoids spinning of the inside driven wheel.
The advantages are perfect traction when accelerating from a standstill, stabilization of the vehicle when braking and at high speed and earlier acceleration out of bends.
A comfortable, sporty, highly sporty or completely individual suspension setting can be called up by turning the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT controller in the center console. With the selected transmission mode, parameters such as the characteristics of engine, transmission and steering are also changed. High agility and dynamism are provided by the "Sport" transmission mode, which features more direct steering characteristics, sporty, firm suspension tuning and also modified shift points. The element of sportiness can be enhanced even further in the "Sport Plus" transmission mode. In this case, the suspension and drive system are even more dynamically tuned. The ECO Start/Stop function is deactivated. The "RACE" transmission mode is designed for racetrack performance. It impresses with optimum sportiness in terms of response, engine rpm and shift times. The "Individual" transmission mode enables the drivers to adjust the various parameters—from the steering and drive system to the suspension—to suit their own requirements.
