Passionate in every sense: In the AMG S 65 Coupé, every square meter represents superior sportiness and captivates with sensual clarity. The front splitter, side skirts, and diffuser insert are not only optical highlights; they also perform quite clear performance tasks. And even the exterior is impressive, with details like the V12-specific design elements in high-gloss chrome at the front, side, and rear.

The interior is also characterized by the utmost attention to detail and the highest quality of workmanship – right up to the absence of perforation, in order to ensure a perfect seam pattern. And in the AMG sports seats, you will enjoy the 1000 Nm of the AMG 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine even on long trips. As a result, with an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.1 seconds, long distances will not seem so long – rather, passionately different.

Signature Coupe dynamics and characteristic lines define the side design. The performance requirements become apparent as soon as you catch a glimpse of the striking light-alloy wheels. AMG Bodystyling.

The new powerful design with AMG-specific radiator grille and jet wing in the front apron as well as the distinctive rear apron with expressive V12-specific twin tailpipes underscores the exclusivity of the vehicle. The exclusive standards of this car are further emphasised by the lower air inlet grilles in high-gloss chrome in the front apron.

AMG High-Performance Braking System.

The AMG high-performance composite brake system features brake calipers with a gray finish. Red calipers are optionally available. A ceramic high-performance composite brake system is available as an option. The design, which is more than 20 percent lighter, ensures lower unsprung masses, as well as enhanced driving dynamics, agility and ride comfort.

Wheels.

The Mercedes-AMG S 65 Coupé features forged wheels in a multi-spoke design, size 8.5 x 20 at the front and 9.5 x 20 at the rear, with 255/40 R 20 and 285/35 R 20 tires. The exclusive forged wheels of the V12 Coupé fascinate with their exceptional design which represents a contemporary interpretation of the classic sports car rims: each of the 16 spokes have a specific angle so that the light-catching contours radiate to the center of the wheel hub. The effect: the wheel gives the impression of being even bigger.

The peerless visual superiority of the ceramic, polished, high-sheen AMG forged wheels is the result of an elaborate finishing process: initial polishing is followed by manual grinding of the light-alloy wheels. Two polishing stages using different grinding pellets ensure the desired deep sheen. Having been cleaned, the wheels undergo final treatment, including sealing with clear varnish.

The forged wheels come standard with a high-quality, screw-on, fully integrated wheel bolt cover in forged aluminum. Its shape is reminiscent of a center lock as seen in motorsport. The AMG lettering is incorporated into the rim as a design element. Five further forged wheels in the same format are also optionally available; including a design variant with a matt black finish and high-sheen rim flange.

AMG Instrument Cluster.

Another typical AMG specialty is the AMG instrument cluster: information regarding the engine speed, vehicle speed and much more appears on two animated round dials on the 31.2 centimeter, high-resolution color TFT display. The typography, the needles in red/silver, the speedometer with its 360 km/h scale and the "V12 BITURBO" lettering in the rev counter all have a specifically AMG look. When the driver's door is opened, an AMG start-up screen appears on the right-hand display, while an animated Mercedes-AMG S 65 Coupé appears in the instrument cluster.

With its AMG 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine, the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Coupé stands for maximum poise and assurance as well as superior performance. AMG 6.0-Liter-V12-Biturbo Engine.

The AMG V12 delivers a peak output of 463 kW (630 hp) and a maximum torque of 1000 Nm, resulting in effortlessly superior performance: the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). In other respects, the AMG 6.0-Liter V12 Biturbo engine assures a sensational drive: stylish drive comfort, tremendous tractive power and effortless power delivery in all speed ranges are coupled with refined engine running characteristics and the distinctive typical sound of the AMG V12.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC.

With 7 gears, 3 drive programs and the automatic double-declutching function, this transmission based on 7G-TRONIC PLUS enables both an extremely sporty and fuel-efficient driving style. Depending on the preferred driving style, the driver has a choice between an efficient and comfortable style in drive program C (Comfort), a brisk and sporty style in S (Sport) and S+ (Sport Plus) or manual style in "M". A modified accelerator pedal curve and more direct throttle response result in even more agility and driving pleasure in the "S", "S+" and "M" modes. The automatic double-declutching function provides for a more emotively appealing experience and minimises load cycles, which has a particularly positive effect when braking into bends and improves handling safety on wet and slippery surfaces. Drive program "C" allows comfortable driving at low engine speeds. At the same time, the ECO start/stop function is available.

AMG Sports Suspension.

The AMG sports suspension based on MAGIC BODY CONTROL uniquely combines outstanding driving dynamics and precision with a high level of long-distance comfort. The curve tilting function enables the body of the vehicle to lean inwards by up to 2.65 degrees on bends. This reduces the lateral forces experienced and enhances driving pleasure, particularly on winding routes. The AMG-specific parameterisation of MAGIC BODY CONTROL guarantees optimum handling characteristics right up to the physical limit. This is also assisted by the newly designed axle bearings at the front wheel control and the rear subframe. The suspension uses innovative ROAD SURFACE SCAN. The nature of the road surface ahead is precisely scanned with the help of a stereo camera located behind the windscreen. In fractions of a second, the system uses the images and the information on the vehicle status to compute the right strategy so that the damping at each wheel is optimally adjusted in advance to suit an uneven surface ahead. In addition, MAGIC BODY CONTROL effectively compensates body roll and pitching when moving off, cornering or braking. In this way, the lateral forces experienced are significantly reduced and sportiness is noticeably enhanced.

Lithium-Ion-Battery.

The Mercedes-AMG S 65 Coupé comes standard with a lithium-ion battery. This innovative technology offers numerous advantages over a conventional battery concept: with a capacity of 78 Ah, the lithium-ion battery replaces both the starter battery and the backup battery, resulting in a weight saving of over 20 kg.
