Classic sports car proportions also provide the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster with an extremely alluring appearance, with a very long hood extending far forward, and a short, powerful rear end. A further special feature is the newly designed front apron, which extends far down, with the new AMG Panamericana grille in high-gloss chrome. The soft top gives the vehicle an elegant profile, tracing the contours of the coupé when the top is closed. Opening/closing takes only around 11 seconds, and can be done at speeds of 50 km/h.

The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster comes standard-equipped with AMG sports exhaust system. The emotive hallmark AMG V8 sound is particularly powerful when accelerating. At a constant speed, the noise level is more reserved. Two integral chrome-plated tailpipe trim elements create a visually striking highlight.
Additionally, the selectable AMG Performance exhaust system is available as an optional extra. The exhaust system volume can be adjusted with the push of a button for an emotive sound experience or reduced noise level.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster comes standard-equipped with silver 10-spoke light-alloy wheels, 9 x 19 inch (front) and 11 x 19 inch (rear), with 255/35 R 19 and 295/35 R 19 tires. A host of different design and color variants are available as options such as the black matte, ultralight forged wheels in cross-spoke design, with high-sheen rim flange and fully integrated wheel bolt covers.
AMG high-performance composite braking system: improved fade resistance, lower weight
Large vented and cross-drilled brake discs provide excellent deceleration. The use of composite technology increases fade resistance and reduces weight. This weight reduction lowers the unsprung masses on the wheel, thereby improving the response of the spring/damper elements. The brake discs on the front axle consist of an aluminum bowl and a cast iron friction ring, which are joined together by connecting arms. This so-called floating mounting ensures that the friction ring is able to expand independently of the brake disc bowl. This reduces heat-induced stress and cracking under extreme conditions and extends the service life. At the same time, deformation of the friction ring at high temperatures is also reduced (axial distortion). This prevents the unpleasant vibrations that may occur during braking as a result of uneven wear of the brake discs.
AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system: lighter, more precise, improved fade resistance
Extremely short braking distances, a precise pressure point and very high fade resistance even in extreme operating conditions: the AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system offers race track braking performance. It is immediately recognizable by the special bronze brake calipers with "AMG Carbon Ceramic" lettering. The discs, which are made of a carbon fiber reinforced ceramic material, are produced under vacuum conditions at 1700 degrees Celsius. This special material and the applied production process give the brake discs a particularly high degree of hardness. The resultant resistance to extreme loads and heat gives rise to a service life many times longer than that of a gray cast-iron brake disc. The ceramic brake discs are around 40% lighter than conventional composite brake discs. The reduction in unsprung masses enhances driving dynamics and agility. The steering response and the sensitivity of the suspension are also improved.
Further advantages of the AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system:
Enhanced fade resistance means less pronounced losses of braking power under heavy loads, e.g., on race circuits.
A higher friction level means less force needs to be applied to the brake pedal. This allows more sensitive, more finely metered braking.

The interior is reminiscent of an aircraft cockpit; a breathtaking effect even when the soft top is open. The low seat position next to the center console, which has been designed in V8 style, is a particularly striking feature. The outstanding quality of materials is another defining feature of the AMG GT Roadster. The look and feel exude a handcrafted character.
AMG Sports Seats.
The AMG sports seats offer optimized lateral support thanks to heavily contoured side bolsters. The integrated headrests, the transverse seat piping design, and the AMG badges in the seat backrests add a sporty, exclusive touch.
The optionally available AMG Performance seats provide even more lateral support with more heavily contoured backrest and seat cushion side bolsters. For the first time, the AMG Performance seat is also optionally available with the AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, which makes open-air driving enjoyable even in low outside temperatures. The air vent is seamlessly integrated into the seat's headrest area. The temperature of the warm airflow can be set in three stages in order to meet customers’ individual preferences.
Those who want to enjoy comfortable temperatures even on very hot summer days will also opt for the seat climate control, which is also available exclusively for the AMG Performance seat for the first time. The intensity of the air-conditioning can also be set to three levels.
External Coupled Subwoofer.
The Burmester surround-sound system and the Burmester high-end surround-sound system ensure a very special musical experience in the AMG GT Roadster. Both systems are available as an optional extra and benefit from the innovative External Coupled Subwoofer (ECS). With its extremely low bass range, this new bass sound reproduction system turns the open two-seater into a mobile concert stage.
Instead of a subwoofer box of limited dimensions, ECS uses the entire interior as a bass box. This is made possible by a special aperture in the right rear wheel arch. The subwoofer is connected to the body shell via this aperture, transmitting the impressive sound.
The AMG instrument cluster provides an exciting AMG design and valuable information for sporty drivers. Exclusivity and sportiness are visually underscored by the two-tube look of the round dials with carbon fiber-effect backplates and a surround in silver chrome. The speedometer with 320 km/h dial is on the left, the rev counter with AMG logo on the right. The AMG main menu including RACETIMER and the AMG start-up screen are shown in high resolution and in color on the central 11.4 cm TFT multifunction display. With the RACETIMER it is possible to measure and store lap times.
Performance Steering Wheel.
For outstanding vehicle control, the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather features a flattened bottom section, as well as perforated grip areas. The sporty design is completed by silver-colored aluminum shift paddles and a 12-o'clock marking.
As an optional extra, the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfiber is available. For an even better grip during sporty maneuvers, the grip area on this steering wheel is finished in DINAMICA microfiber.

The AMG sports suspension delivers impressive racetrack performance thanks to a perfect implementation of the double-wishbone concept that has proven so successful in the world of motorsport. This is shown in the excellent lateral dynamics and driving stability at high speeds, and likewise in the effective elimination of external influences such as cross winds, bumps or increases in the friction coefficient. The driver benefits from stable and harmonious handling performance, even at the limits, thanks to a high level of camber and track rigidity. The wheel location and suspension functions are separate.
AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension: from highly comfortable to sporty and firm
The optionally available AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with adaptive adjustable damping provides three different suspension modes. The driver is able to choose between "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport+" with the touch of a button or by selecting the mode that optimizes the damping characteristics for the current driving situation from highly comfortable for cruising, to sporty and firm for cornering at speed, for example. The suspension also delivers impressive racetrack performance thanks to its implementation of the double-wishbone concept, which has proven to be so successful in motorsports. This is shown above all in the excellent lateral dynamics and driving stability at high speeds. The damping system of the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension operates continuously. This improves handling safety and ride comfort. The damping tuning is controlled individually for each wheel and is dependent on the driving style, the road surface condition and the selected suspension setting.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-Speed Sports Transmission.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission is a dual-clutch transmission. It comprises two sub-transmissions, one of which transfers the tractive power to the wheels, while the other already preselects the next gear. This forms the basis for spontaneous gear changes and extremely short shift times. When kickdown mode is used, the electronic controller skips individual gear ranges instead of changing down through each individual gear. This enables fast sprints.
AMG 4.0Liter-V8-Biturbo Engine.
The AMG GT Roadster has an output of 350 kW (476 hp) and 630 Nm of torque. This variant accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and has a top speed of 302 km/h.
The eight-cylinder engine thrills with its immediate response, linear, finely controllable power delivery and powerful acceleration in all rpm ranges. The AMG 4.0-liter V8 comes with well-proven twin turbocharging, with the two chargers located not outside on the cylinder banks, but rather between them in the V of the cylinders. The advantages of the "hot inner V" include a compact engine design, spontaneous response from the turbochargers and low exhaust emissions thanks to optimum air flow for the close-coupled catalytic converters.
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT.
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT works even faster than a racing team, making the desired individual setup for engine, transmission or steering immediately accessible. Depending on the selected transmission mode, the vehicle is either tends towards comfort, or is ready for the race track.

- Transmission modes define the character as comfortable, sporty or oriented for the race track
- Adjusts the parameters for the engine application, the transmission shift times, the damping characteristics or the steering power assistance
- Standard setting "Comfort": well-balanced and fuel-efficient
- "Sport" transmission mode: more agility and dynamics with spontaneous throttle response and modified shift points (earlier downshifts, later upshifts), sporty and firm suspension tuning and less steering power assistance
- "Sport +" transmission mode: further enhanced sportiness, while drivetrain and suspension are even more dynamically tuned
- "RACE" transmission mode: all vehicle systems are set up for use on the race track for optimum lap times, engine speeds are kept as high as possible
- Emotional in Sport+ and RACE: firmer gear shifting, particularly when upshifting
- "Individual" transmission mode: variation of individual parameters to suit personal preference
