Front End Design.
The new Mercedes-AMG GT models are all identifiable by the distinctive AMG Panamericana grille. Underscoring the motor sport heritage, the grille features 15 chrome-plated, vertical bars, which echo the look of the latest Mercedes-AMG GT3 customer sport racing car. The new front apron emphasizes the car's width, making it hug the road. The large outer air inlets guarantee a sufficient supply of cooling air to the engine.
The Mercedes-AMG GT C comes standard-equipped with titanium gray, 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, 9 x 19 inch (front) and 12 x 20 inch (rear), with 265/35 R 19 and 305/30 R 20 tires. A host of different design and color variants are available as options such as the black matte, ultralight forged wheels in cross-spoke design with high-sheen rim flange or painted in titanium gray and polished, both featuring fully integrated wheel bolt covers.
High-Performance Composite Braking System.
AMG high-performance composite braking system
Large, internally ventilated and perforated brake disks provide excellent deceleration. The use of composite technology increases fade resistance and reduces weight. This weight reduction lowers the unsprung masses on the wheel, thereby improving the response of the spring/damper elements.
AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system
The optionally available AMG ceramic, high-performance composite brake system offers racetrack braking performance. It is immediately recognizable by the special bronze brake calipers with black "AMG Carbon Ceramic" lettering. The discs, which are made of a carbon fiber reinforced ceramic material, are produced under vacuum conditions at 1700 degrees Celsius. This special material and the applied production process give the brake discs a particularly high degree of hardness. The resultant resistance to extreme loads and heat gives rise to a service life many times longer than that of a gray cast-iron brake disc. The ceramic brake discs are around 40% lighter than conventional composite brake discs.
Performance Exhaust System.
Emotionally appealing soundscape or discreet background noise: adjustable exhaust gas flaps allow the sound of the AMG Performance exhaust system to be regulated to suit the driver's preference. To do so, the driver simply presses the exhaust flap button in the center console. The transmission mode selected also influences the sound characteristics.
Special features of the selectable AMG Performance exhaust system:
- The driver can adjust the sound characteristics using the exhaust flap button in the center console or by selecting the appropriate transmission mode using the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT Controller, in a range that extends from moderately sonorous to emphatically sporty
- Adjustment via two variable exhaust gas flaps – without any effect on performance
- Sporty and emotionally stirring sound when the exhaust gas flaps are open
- Quieter cold starts
The panoramic roof connected directly to the windscreen spans the entire roof area. It offers the driver and front passenger an excellent view and creates a light, friendly atmosphere in the interior.A mechanical sunblind provides shade in strong sunlight. The continuous glass look with homogeneous surface lends the vehicle exterior an even lighter air.

AMG Aerodynamics package
A large front splitter that ends in flics at the front wheel arches, and a fixed rear wing and flics on the front wheel arches increase the negative lift force. Consequently, handling is improved at high speeds, in particular lateral acceleration, driving stability and the braking distance. The Aerodynamics package is rounded off by specific side skirt attachments that create a strikingly sporty look.
AMG Exterior Carbon package
With sporty details in carbon fiber, this package brings a significant level of dynamism to the vehicle when viewed at any angle. The front splitter, the fins in the wing, the exterior mirror housing, the single-section diffuser in the rear apron and the inserts in the side skirts are made of carbon fiber.
AMG Exterior Chrome package
The high-quality high-gloss chrome finish lends select exterior elements a uniform appearance in terms of color, shine and quality. It stands out thanks to its cool, highly transparent look.
AMG Exterior Night package
Elements in high-gloss black underscore the vehicle's expressiveness and sportiness from the front splitter and the radiator grille louvre, to the exterior mirror housings. The effect is made complete by two black tailpipe trim elements.

The interior design continues the special design idiom of the exterior. The accentuated wide look of the dashboard has the appearance of a powerful wing. The high beltlines, the concave door panelling, the dynamically rising, V8-styled centre console and the low seating position help integrate the driver perfectly into the cockpit. The central "aviation design" theme, which is the hallmark of Mercedes-Benz sports cars, has been restyled. The extreme emphasis on the width of the dashboard, which creates an impression of a powerful wing, dominates the cockpit of the Mercedes-AMG GT C. Four central spotlight-style vents and the individual vents at the right and left ends of the dashboard reinforce this impression. In conjunction with the high beltlines, the concave-shaped door paneling and the dynamic center console, the Mercedes-AMG GT C comes across as a genuine driving machine and consummately integrates the driver into the cockpit thanks to the low seat position.
AMG DRIVE UNIT.
Featuring controls in a stylized V8 arrangement, the AMG DRIVE UNIT is the control center for the sports transmission as well as all driving dynamics functions. The AMG E-SELECT selector lever, the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT Controller and various buttons can be used to adjust the mode, transmission and ESP®, for example. The driver can change between the R, N and D transmission settings in the most direct manner possible by just nudging the AMG E-SELECT lever. When the vehicle is stationary, the Park position is activated by simply pressing the "P" button. This happens automatically when the engine is switched off.
The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT Controller can be used to call up the predefined modes "Comfort" (C), "Sport" (S), "Sport Plus" (S+) and "Race" plus an individually configurable mode (I*). In so doing, each individual mode changes the vehicle parameters depending on the vehicle equipment, the aim being to offer the driver an optimum driving experience in every driving situation. Selecting a mode changes the settings for the drive system, the transmission tuning, the steering, the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, the selectable AMG Performance exhaust system, the ESP® and the ECO Start/Stop function. The "M" button activates manual mode, which allows the driver to change gear manually at all times. In addition, the AMG DRIVE UNIT has a button for selecting the ESP® levels, a button for manually adjusting the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, a button for the selectable AMG Performance exhaust system and a button for manually controlling the retractable rear aerofoil, which depending on the car's equipment is located in the center console or the upper control panel.
AMG Performance Steering Wheel.
For an even better grip during sporty maneuvers, the grip area on the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather is finished in DINAMICA microfiber. The sporty design is completed by silver-colored aluminum shift paddles and a 12-o'clock marking.
AMG sports seats
The AMG sports seats in the Mercedes-AMG GT C provide good lateral support for both the driver and the front passenger even under high lateral acceleration and offer exceptional seating comfort. Their distinctive contours, the AMG badges and the integrated head restraints all come together to emphasize the car's sporty look.
AMG Performance seats
The more pronounced seat contours and the adjustable side bolsters of the optional AMG Performance seats improve quite tangibly the lateral support given to the driver and front passenger. Their distinctive design gives the interior a sporty flair all of its own.
The AMG instrument cluster offers an exciting AMG design and valuable information for sporty drivers. Exclusivity and sportiness are visually underscored by the 2-tube look of the round dials with carbon-fibre-look backplates. The speedometer with 360-km/h dial is on the left, the rev counter with AMG logo on the right. The AMG main menu including RACE TIMER and the AMG start-up screen are shown in high resolution and in colour on the central 11.4 cm TFT multifunction display. With the RACE TIMER it is possible to measure and store lap times.
The Mercedes-AMG GT C is a high-performance sports car featuring fascinating technology. The basis for its sophisticated lightweight design is provided by the aluminium spaceframe body. This offers an intelligent mix of cast aluminium components (at points subject to high forces) and aluminium profiles, for the ideal wall thickness throughout the body. Another highlight is the boot lid consisting of ultra-light SMC plastic (Sheet Moulding Compound) and steel reinforcement underneath. The Mercedes-AMG GT C also incorporates a lithium-ion battery, saving approx. 10 kilograms in weight compared with a conventional starter battery.

AMG 4.0-Liter V8 Biturbo Engine.
Rated at 410 kW (557 hp) and 680 Nm the AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine M178 delivers spontaneous response and high pulling power at low revs. With such an immense power, the Mercedes-AMG GT C accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds from a standstill and reaches a maximum speed of 317 km/h.
The compact design of the M178 results from two turbochargers which are not mounted on the outside of the cylinder banks but rather inside the V configuration. The “hot inside V“ also optimises the supply of fresh air to both exhaust gas turbochargers.
The dry sump lubrication allows the engine to be installed in a low position with a lower center of gravity – ideal for a sports car with extremely high lateral dynamics. As well as the enhanced agility, dry sump lubrication ensures optimum lubrication of the engine through direct oil extraction from the crankcases, even at high cornering speeds.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-Speed Sport Transmission.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sport transmission is a dual-clutch transmission. It comprises two sub-transmissions, one of which transfers the tractive power to the wheels, while the other already preselects the next gear. This forms the basis for spontaneous gear changes and extremely short shift times. When kickdown mode is used, the electronic controller skips individual gear ranges instead of changing down through each individual gear. This enables fast sprints.
When downshifting, the double-declutching function is much more than a highly emotional sound experience. It stabilizes the vehicle and minimizes unwanted load change reactions, for example when braking prior to bends. Another basic advantage is the fact that the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sport transmission is positioned on the rear axle for ideal weight distribution. This transaxle design optimizes traction. Power transmission occurs via a carbon fiber drive shaft, which rotates at engine speed and is extremely strong while weighing only 3.9 kilograms. The engine and transmission are thus connected in a way that makes them resistant to bending and at the same time, torsionally rigid and as such, they support each other. This sophisticated solution means the entire drivetrain is virtually free of play.
AMG RIDE CONTROL Sports Suspension.
The AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with adaptive adjustable damping provides three different suspension modes. The driver is able to choose between "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport+" with the touch of a button, or by selecting the mode that optimizes the damping characteristics for the current driving situation from highly comfortable for cruising to sporty and firm for cornering at speed, for example. The suspension also delivers impressive racetrack performance thanks to its implementation of the double-wishbone concept that has proven to be so successful in motorsports. This is shown, above all, in the excellent lateral dynamics and driving stability at high speeds. The damping system of the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension operates continuously. This improves handling safety and ride comfort. The damping tuning is controlled individually for each wheel and is dependent on the driving style, the road surface condition and the selected suspension setting.
AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package.
Even more enhanced vehicle dynamics and even sportier vehicle handling come courtesy of the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package. In addition to dynamic engine and transmission mounts, it includes a more firmly tuned sports suspension and specifically tuned steering. The result is better performance with optimized handling. An AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfiber, plus yellow highlights in the instrument cluster, complete the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package.
AMG Rear-Axle Steering.
A technical highlight of the Mercedes-AMG GT C is the standard-specification AMG rear axle steering. The intelligent principle: at low speeds (up to 100 km/h) the rear wheels steer in opposite directions. To the driver, this feels like a virtual shortening of the wheelbase, providing for first-class agility in response to spontaneous changes of direction. Steering movements in the same direction at higher speeds (from 100 km/h) act like an extended wheelbase and boost the impressive driving stability at the critical limits.
