The legendary AMG 4.0-litre-V8-Biturbo with 470 kW gains a powerful ally in the shape of the AMG GT 63 S E Performance. The electromotor, developed exclusively by AMG with ultra-light and direct cooled high-performance battery, fully developed in-house, delivers power transmission directly to the rear axle – with no delay and without the limitations imposed by combustion engine transmission. You will feel it: maximum power delivery from the moment your foot touches the pedal and unparalleled longitudinal dynamics.
The development of the lithium-ion battery was inspired by technologies that have been tried and tested under the most extreme conditions in the Formula 1 hybrid racing-car of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. With a system performance of 470 + 150 kW (639 + 204 PS) and maximum torque of 900 + 300 Nm, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance embodies the cutting edge of driving performance.
Performance is a question of attitude
Personalise your driving experience – at the touch of a button. The seven AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes are precisely tailored to the latest drive technology and therefore offer a wide-ranging driving experience – from highly efficient to highly dynamic. What’s more, you can choose between four different recuperation modes on the right-hand AMG steering-wheel button. This applies to all drive modes with the exception of ‘Slippery’. Energy is recuperated differently depending on the drive mode. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance also provides you with a fully electric driving mode for the first time. The plug-in hybrid can be locally switched to emission-free mode at the touch of a button.
You can toggle the sound experience between ‘balanced’ and ‘powerful’ using the sound buttons in the central console or on the steering wheel (identified by the frequency wave symbol): In the case of a purely electric journey, it is possible to stage either a subtle or powerful sound experience. If the combustion engine kicks in, the selected setting influences the flap-controlled exhaust system. One thing remains constant in every situation: The acoustics of the Performance-Hybrid make it immediately recognisable as an AMG under any conditions.
An AMG GT at first glance – a hybrid at the second. The expressive design with its deep-set bonnet, muscular body, crouched, dynamic greenhouse and powerful fastback clearly elucidates the sporty genes of the four-door coupé.An exclusive distinguishing characteristic of the new drive technology is the rear apron – designed in house – with integrated plug-in charging cable flap and the model name rendered in red. The ‘E-PERFORMANCE’ wing-badge on the side of the vehicle alludes to the hybrid motor.
The interior features a whole range of personalisation options for you to choose from. Exclusive colours can be selected to emphasise either the sporty or luxurious side of the new ultimate high-performance four-door. Along with the widescreen cockpit with MBUX multimedia system and AMG-hybrid-specific display and features, which come as standard, the striking new additions also include the twin-spoke version of the AMG Performance steering wheel with round AMG steering-wheel buttons. These impress with their shining display and faultless operating logic. What’s more, important driving features and all the driving programmes can be controlled from here, and it is now also possible to select the recuperation levels of the hybrid motor.
