Self-assurance inspires respect. It’s a rule that applies on the road as much as in the working environment. The diamond radiator grille with pins in chrome, the AMG front apron with integral air intakes, a front splitter in silver chrome and black flics define the self-confident front end of the new Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC.
Looking at the car from the side, the eye is immediately drawn to its striking 5-twin-spoke 19-inch wheels and the “BITURBO 4MATIC” lettering on the front wings. The AMG side sill panels plus the hallmark AMG diffuser-look rear apron and two chrome-plated twin tailpipes further underline the sporty aesthetics. Numerous design features lend the exterior an even more dynamic and athletic character. These include the AMG bodystyling, comprising AMG front apron with sporty, striking air intakes and black flics, AMG side sill panels and AMG rear apron in a diffuser look with trim strip. The diamond radiator grille with integral Mercedes-Benz star and one louvre in high-gloss black with chrome inserts underscores the sporty look.
A sportingly dimensioned braking system at the front with perforated brake discs and brake calipers with "AMG" lettering also forms part of the scope of equipment. The selectable AMG sports exhaust system with two chrome-plated twin tailpipe trim elements ensures an emotional sound experience.
To visually underscore its dynamic appearance, the Mercedes-AMG E 43 comes with 48.3 cm (19-inch) AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, painted in high-gloss black and with a high-sheen finish as a standard.
Optionally available are 50.8 cm (20-inch) AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black and with a high-sheen finish or painted in titanium gray and with a high-sheen finish as well as 50.8 cm (20-inch) AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black and with a high-sheen finish or painted in titanium gray and with a high-sheen finish.
AMG Sports Exhaust System.
AMG-typical, throaty sound or reserved noise level – the acoustics of the AMG sports exhaust system adjust to the selected transmission mode. The double-declutching function when downshifting underscores the sporty vehicle setup in transmission mode "S". In transmission mode "S+" the V6 engine sound is at its most emotional – with double-declutching function and misfire in overrun mode as well as during gear shifting. The two chrome-plated tailpipe trim elements bring the sporty character of the AMG sports exhaust system to life on a visual level. They are separated by a centerpiece, thus creating a 4-pipe look.
With striking design elements in black, the Night package underscores the already sporty, expressive character of the vehicle. In addition to high-gloss black trim on the front and rear aprons, other highlights include heat-insulating dark-tinted glass starting from the B-pillar and black chrome-plated twin tailpipe trim elements.
With exterior mirror housings and an AMG spoiler lip in carbon fiber, the AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber Package II creates some highly effective contrasts and gives the vehicle an even more dynamic appearance. The AMG spoiler lip reduces rear-end lift at high speeds.
You’re used to being in charge. The interior of the new Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC, characterized by high-quality materials and sporty elegance, could have been designed for this very purpose. With a multifunction sports steering wheel in nappa leather featuring red contrasting topstitching and steering wheel gearshift paddles in silver chrome, you have everything well under control.
The instrument panel, in black ARTICO man-made leather with red contrasting topstitching, together with the aluminum trim with trapezium grain, emphasize the exclusive nature of the interior, in terms of both visual and tactile appeal. As do the contoured cushions of the AMG sports seats, which are guaranteed to give you perfect lateral support. Just put your foot down on the AMG sports pedals and your wish is their command.

The premium sporty interior comprises equipment such as the multifunction sports steering wheel, sports seats with optimized lateral support and AMG-specific seat upholstery layout, AMG sports pedals and AMG floor mats with "AMG" lettering. The dashboard in black ARTICO man-made leather with red contrasting topstitching and the trapezium-grain aluminum trim underscore the exclusivity in terms of both look and feel. The seats are upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA microfiber in black. The roof liner is finished in black fabric. The additional equipment features such as ambient lighting, footwell lighting in the rear, analogue clock on the center console and spectacles compartment in the overhead control panel additionally enhance the sense of value and comfort.
As a standard, the Mercedes-AMG E 43 is equipped with the three-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel in black nappa leather with red contrasting topstitching. Due to the flattened bottom section and the gearshift paddles in silver chrome, it is ideally suited to an emphatic driving style. Additionally, the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfiber is available as optional extra. For an even better grip during sporty maneuvers, the grip area is finished in DINAMICA microfiber. The sporty design is completed by silver-colored aluminum shift paddles and a 12-o'clock marking.
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT.
Comfortable, sporty, highly sporty or completely individual suspension settings can be called up at the touch of a button using AMG DYNAMIC SELECT. The "Eco," "Comfort," "Sport," "Sport+" and "Individual" transmission modes impress with their specific configuration. With the selected drive mode, parameters such as the characteristics of the engine, transmission, suspension and steering are changed to deliver an even sportier vehicle setup, i.e., a more agile accelerator characteristic with more direct setup, shorter shift times and a significantly more emotive feel to gear changes.
The dynamic characteristics of the vehicle are assisted by additional functions such as double-declutching function, cylinder suppression, active downshift, fast starting in "Sport" and "Sport+" modes. The "Individual" transmission mode enables drivers to adjust the various parameters – from the steering and powertrain to the suspension – to suit their own preferences. The "M" button can be used to switch directly into manual mode, using only the steering wheel gearshift paddles to change the gears.
The widescreen cockpit with a high-resolution, multifunction double-color display can be individually configured and has its own AMG graphics. The AMG instrument cluster delivers all relevant information in a clearly arranged layout optimized for a dynamic driving style. Two tube-style round dials, the 11.4 cm (4.5-inch) multifunction color display, the RACETIMER and the 280 km/h scale in checkered flag design conjure up a sports car feel.
Door Sill Panels.
The AMG door sill panels in brushed stainless steel indicate an exclusive sporty character as soon as the doors are opened. They also protect the entrance area from damage.
As an optional extra the door sill panels are illuminated – featuring the "AMG" lettering illuminated in white, this option provides another exclusive sporty highlight.
Successful people and AMG Performance vehicles have one thing above all in common: irrepressible drive. With 295 kW (401 hp) and 520 Nm, the 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine catapults the new Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds – and does so highly efficiently, ensuring that fuel consumption remains low.
The AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive system distributes the power to the road via a front-to-rear distribution ratio of 31 to 69 percent. The AMG sports suspension on the basis of AIR BODY CONTROL also intelligently adjusts the damping of the wheels to the prevailing driving situation – anywhere between comfortable and sporty, according to preference. The terms used to describe this overall package could also refer to you: constant dynamic drive and a high degree of flexibility.

The V6 biturbo engine boasts a high power output combined with low fuel consumption and emissions. The high power output of 295 kW (401 hp) is attributable, among other things, to new, larger turbochargers and the higher charge-air pressure of 1.1 bar. Installed close to the engine, the two turbochargers are especially spontaneous in their response.
The NANOSLIDE® coating on the cylinder liners has also undergone further development in the Formula 1 V6 hybrid turbo engines from Mercedes-Benz. Especially tough and, therefore, wear-resistant, this coating also reduces friction, thereby contributing to higher efficiency. The same applies to the spray-guided multiple injection with up to 200 bar fuel pressure. The AMG powerplant can be identified by the red aluminum insert in the engine cover.
9G-TRONIC With Shortened Shift Times.
Featuring nine forward gears, this automatic transmission takes dynamics, efficiency and comfort to a completely new level. Fast gear changes, thanks to the AMG-specific tuning, result in even better response and agility. At the same time, the 9G-TRONIC impresses with smooth, barely perceptible gear shifting like that of a continuously variable transmission. As the 9G-TRONIC is able to skip individual gears, multiple downshifts are possible for fast and powerful sprints.
AMG Sports Suspension Based On AIR BODY CONTROL.
The multi-chamber air suspension system works in unison with a sporty, AMG-specific spring/damper setup and continuously variable damper control to ensure a very high standard of ride comfort and driving dynamics. The damping at each wheel is adapted to the current driving situation and road surface condition. This is done rapidly and precisely using separate valves for the compression and rebound of the dampers. A harder spring rate, for example when cornering and braking, effectively reduces rolling movements. At high speeds the suspension is automatically lowered, helping to reduce aerodynamic drag and further improve handling stability.
AMG Performance 4MATIC.
The performance-oriented all-wheel drive developed by Mercedes-AMG combines optimum traction, hallmark AMG driving dynamics and maximum driving pleasure. This is ensured by the clear torque distribution to the rear. Unlike in the standard model, Mercedes-AMG distributes the engine torque in a ratio of 31% to the front axle and 69% to the rear axle. In addition, AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive increases driving safety and traction on wet or wintry road surfaces.
