For the love of curves.
Mercedes-AMG CLS 63
The AMG CLS 63 Shooting Brake can’t deny its biggest passion: curves. The vehicle’s design takes clear inspiration from historic racecars: the elongated hood, the sharply sloping roofline, and the “dropping line” in the side profile epitomize a uniquely dynamic forward motion. The “Twin blade” and “A-wing,” striking and characteristic AMG design elements, dominate the elongated front end. Small AMG lettering adorns the “twin blade” between the louvres. The three-dimensional aerodynamic “A-wing” guide element stretches across the entire width of the front apron and forms a stylized “A” typical of AMG vehicles. When we talk about dynamics, we’re not just keeping a promise, we’re fulfilling an obligation. One the AMG 5.5 liter-V8 bi-turbo engine fulfills with all the passion of its 557 HP, launching you from 0 to 60 in just 3.8 seconds.

AMG High-Performance Composite Braking System.
Large, internally ventilated and perforated brake discs provide excellent deceleration. Composite brakes on the front increases fade resistance and reduces weight. The total weight reduction of around 3 kg lowers the unsprung masses on the wheels, thereby improving the response of the spring/damper elements. The brake discs consist of an aluminum bowl and a cast iron friction ring joined together by connecting arms. This floating bearing design ensures the friction ring is able to expand independently of the brake disc bowl. This reduces heat-induced stress and cracking under extreme conditions, and extends service life. It also reduces deformation of the friction ring at high temperatures. This helps to avoid the unpleasant vibrations that may occur during braking due to uneven brake disc wear.

Designo wood trunk floor.
One highlight among the optional extras available for all CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake models is the designo wooden trunk floor. Made of open-pore American cherry wood, a fine decorative wood traditionally used in superior interior design work, high-quality furniture, and exclusive shipbuilding. Select veneer sheets are glued and pressed together by hand in cross-bonded layers to achieve high dimensional stability. The blanks are milled into their precise shape using a CNC machine. Surfaces are sanded to a smooth finish, waterproofed, and oiled to highlight the natural beauty of the wood.
Inlaid work using darker smoked oak, precisely cut into three-millimeter strips with laser technology, helps to enhance the design of the wooden floor. The aluminum rails, manufactured using an extrusion molding process, have a brushed finish and rubber inserts, and not only help protect the wooden floor but also offer anti-slip properties.

AMG-Specific 4Matic All-Wheel Drive.
The performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive distributes the engine torque at a ratio of 33 to 67 percent (front/rear axle). The rear-biased power distribution provides signature AMG high driving dynamics and superlative driving enjoyment. The 3-stage ESP® has been tailored specifically to the permanent all-wheel drive system. In "SPORT Handling" mode, the Torque Vectoring Brake performs selective braking interventions on individual wheels to generate high agility, avoiding understeering when turning and cornering. In curves, targeted brief braking of the inner rear wheel results in defined vehicle cornering.
The AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive enhances driving safety and grip on wet or wintry road surfaces. Optimum traction is guaranteed by a multi-disk clutch with a locking effect of 50 Nm that fully exploits the frictional connection potential of all four wheels on snow and ice.
The technical core of the all-wheel drive system is a transfer case offering additional power distribution to the driven rear axle. This transfer case is integrated compactly into the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission and requires virtually no additional installation space. Torque is transmitted from the power take-off to the front axle via a propeller shaft. An intermediate shaft ensures power transmission to the front-left drive shaft, passing through an encapsulated shaft duct in the engine oil pan. The compact and weight-optimized design results in a comparatively low added weight for the all-wheel-drive system of only 70 kilograms.
