True to the motto “More power, less lift,” the exterior of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Coupé has clearly advanced. The striking front end is marked by an AMG radiator grille with twin blades in silver chrome and the characteristic AMG front apron in an A-wing design. The AMG rear apron and diffuser insert with four vertical fins optimize air flow. The two chrome-plated twin tailpipes of the AMG sports exhaust system and the TURBO 4MATIC lettering on the sides underscore the progressive overall character of the car.

The high-class feel of the vehicle has been notably enhanced both inside and out. The exterior also makes an intense and dynamic impression from any angle. The front end is dominated by the AMG radiator grille with twin louvers in silver chrome and the distinctive AMG front apron in an A-wing design. The stunning new 45.7 cm (18-inch) AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels really stand out when viewed from the side. And the restyled AMG spoiler lip serves as a refined conclusion to the vehicle’s tail end. The aerodynamic enhancements to both the front and rear greatly enhance the car's driving dynamics and handling stability by increasing downforce.

AMG Sports Exhaust System.
From typical, sonorous AMG sound to a more restrained tone, the sound of the AMG sports exhaust system adapts to the selected driving mode using a variably adjustable exhaust flap. Two chrome-plated tailpipe trim elements in a twin tailpipe design create an attractive look. The electric exhaust flap offers infinite variable control across the entire engine speed range thanks to the engine characteristics stored for each driving mode. The double-declutching function when downshifting, ignition interruption when upshifting, and controlled misfiring in overrun mode underscore the sporty characteristics of the different driving modes.
In addition, the AMG Performance Exhaust System is available as an option for the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45. It offers an even sportier character and reinforces the emotional sound experience. Drivers can experience the impressive sound even more intensely in the interior at the push of a button.
AMG High-Performance Braking System.
Front brake discs measuring 350 mm in diameter x 32 mm with four-piston fixed calipers, and rear brake discs measuring 330 mm in diameter x 22 mm with single-piston slider caliper guarantee powerful deceleration in any situation.
Brake calipers are optionally available painted in red to further visually underscore the performance of the braking system.
The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 comes standard with 45.7 cm (18-inch) AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels painted titanium grey with a high-sheen finish, fitted with 235/40 R 18 tires.
In addition, 19-inch (48.3 cm) AMG cross-spoke light-alloy wheels painted titanium grey with a high-sheen finish or painted matte black with a high-sheen rim flange fitted with 235/35 R 19 tires are available as an optional extra. 19-inch (48.3 cm) AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels painted titanium grey with a high-sheen finish or painted matte black with a high-sheen rim flange, fitted with 235/35 R 19 tires are also optionally available.

AMG Night package:
The AMG Night package features striking exterior features to give the vehicle an expressive sporty character. These include:

AMG Aerodynamics package:
The AMG Aerodynamics package ensures increased downforce on the road and reduces stopping distances at high speeds, improving driving characteristics such as lateral acceleration and driving stability. Features include:

LED High Performance Headlamps.
In addition to their striking look, the LED high-performance headlamps provide more safety at night thanks to a wide light distribution, a light color that is similar to daylight, and low energy consumption. The clearly defined contours and high-quality detailing also give the car an unmistakable look during the day. The LED technology used in the low-beam and main-beam headlamps illuminates the road better than conventional halogen headlamps. When the driver unlocks the vehicle the vehicle, the "Coming Home" function welcomes the driver with an exceptional light display. The fiber optic daytime running lamps first light up blue, then change color via a smooth transition to bright white.
High-performance sports reign supreme in the cockpit of the new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Coupé. All control and display elements are specifically designed for performance,such as the AMG DRIVE UNIT in the center console with AMG DYNAMIC SELECT controller. The interior has the same sporty, expressive feel as the exterior. In the cockpit, the AMG instrument cluster with its new numeral design provides information even more clearly than before. The new AMG design trim combines with the dashboard and edge mouldings finished in ARTICO faux leather with red contrasting topstitching to produce a sophisticated feel. The standard AMG E-SELECT lever and the master key with its AMG crest likewise add to the interior's high-class appeal.
AMG Sports Seats and Performance Seats.
The sports seats in ARTICO faux leather/DINAMICA microfiber with red contrasting topstitching set new standards in terms of both appearance and quality. And, to better adapt to different body sizes, the sports seats now come equipped with an adjustable seat cushion depth as a standard feature.
As an optional extra, the new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 can be equipped with AMG Performance seats. They offer superior lateral support due to the contouring of the side bolsters for the seat cushion and backrest. The seat center panels in DINAMICA microfiber with red stripes in nappa leather, seat side bolsters in ARTICO faux leather, black seat belt guides and red contrasting topstitching give the interior a sporty and distinctive look.
AMG Steering Wheel.
The new multifunction sports steering wheel with a flattened lower rim section, perforated leather in the grip area and red contrasting topstitching isn’t just visually attractive — with silver-colored shift paddles, it invites you to shift manually and allows the driver to truly take control of the driving experience. Outfitted with ergonomic function keys that operate the display menus in the instrument cluster and control audio devices, telephone and navigation system, it provides an impressive connection between Driver and Machine.
As an optional extra, the driver can choose the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfiber. It features a grip area finished in DINAMICA microfiber for even better control. The red or black 12-o'clock mark, a steering wheel bezel in silver chrome with AMG lettering and silver-colored aluminum shift paddles round out the sporty design. This steering wheel is also available fully trimmed in DINAMICA microfiber with red 12-o'clock mark.*

AMG Instrument Cluster.
The AMG instrument cluster in two-tube look offers exciting AMG design and valuable information for sporty drivers. The AMG main menu including RACE TIMER is displayed in high resolution and in color on the central 11.4 cm multifunction display. The AMG start-up screen, on the other hand, appears on the media display in the center of the dashboard. The upper part of the display shows the transmission mode and sailing function, as well as the selected gear in manual mode with a magnifying glass design. Exclusivity and sportiness are visually underscored by the two-tube look of the round dials with carbon fiber-look back plates. Other features are the speedometer with 320 km/h dial and AMG lettering in the rev counter, AMG-specific lettering as well as red needles with black needle caps.
AMG Drive Unit.
The AMG DRIVE UNIT, which includes the E-SELECT lever and the new AMG DYNAMIC SELECT Controller supports the dynamic sportiness of the vehicle and serves as the central control unit for the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. The four individual drive modes (five with the optional DYNAMIC PLUS package) can be selected via the new AMG DYNAMIC SELECT Controller.
Apple CarPlayTM and MirrorLink®.
This optional package allows drivers to integrate an iPhone® into the vehicle via Apple CarPlayTM or an Android smartphone with MirrorLink® and operate them by voice control — certain functions can also be operated via the vehicle controls. This ensures drivers can use their phones safely while they’re on the move. When using Apple CarPlayTM, for example, the system supports telephone operation, navigation and music play, receiving and sending text messages and emails, as well as Siri® voice control. Select supported apps from third-party providers include Stitcher Radio and Spotify. To prevent driver distraction while on the move, there is no complete duplication of smartphone content.
What do AMG drivers and AMG engineers have in common? They both have gasoline running through their veins. With 280 kW (381 hp), the world’s most powerful series-production four-cylinder turbocharged engine drives them both. With a power density of 140 kW (190 hp), it even surpasses most super sports cars. A twin-scroll turbocharger provides spontaneous response and extremely high agility, offering you up to 475 Nm of torque. The optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package with mechanically controlled front-axle limited-slip differential enhances traction even further. Ultimately, physics might be subject to limitations. But your driving pleasure isn’t.

AMG 2.0-Liter-R4-Turbo Engine.
The power output of the AMG 2.0-Liter Inline 4 Turbo engine, which was developed independently by Mercedes-AMG, was increased by 21 hp and 25 Nm by adapting the engine control system and adding a new exhaust camshaft. This means that it is still the most powerful series-produced four-cylinder passenger car engine in the world. It combines fascinating power output, extreme stability and exemplary efficiency.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-Speed Sports Transmission.
The revised AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission allows for extremely dynamic acceleration and ultra-short shift times, as well as a fuel-saving driving style. This is partially due to the simplified operating logic of the RACE START function, ignition interruption during upshifts, the double-declutching function and, above all, the new gear ratios. With seven gears, four transmission settings specific to the drive mode (five with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package) and a manual mode, the AMG sports transmission provides the driver with a broad gearshift spectrum from extremely sporty to very comfortable. It also offers the ECO Start/Stop function and a sailing mode in which the engine is decoupled from the drive system. This effectively reduces fuel consumption.
AMG DYNAMIC PLUS PACKAGE.
Greater driving dynamics and even sportier vehicle handling courtesy of the optionally available AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package. The mechanically controlled AMG front-axle differential lock provides improved traction in every driving situation, especially when the driver adopts a sporty driving style. This helps prevent the driven wheel from spinning on the inside of a curve. Other components of the package include the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with Adaptive Damping system and additional RACE drive mode. This drive mode is designed for maximum driving dynamics, e.g., for use on race tracks or closed-off circuits. The package is also both stylish and functional thanks to the AMG Performance steering wheel, AMG E-SELECT selector lever and master key with AMG crest.
AMG Sports Suspension.
With an independently developed AMG front and rear axle, the AMG sports suspension boasts the ideal attributes for fast cornering speeds and agile handling. All of the components are matched to provide high lateral acceleration and a reduced tendency to roll. The vehicle uses conventional steel suspension. It includes a front-axle sprint strut for wheel control, a tubular torsion bar and twin-tube shock absorber on the front axle, a solid anti-roll bar and single-tube shock absorber on the rear axle, and rear-axle springs.
With its Adaptive Damping system, the optionally available AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension provides two different suspension levels: at the push of a button, the driver can choose between "Comfort" and "Sport." These two settings offer a large overall range from maximum driving dynamics to comfort. Because of this, the electronically controlled damping system provides even sportier tuning than the AMG sports suspension, or more comfortable tuning if desired. The damping system works continuously for improved driving safety and better ride comfort.Damping tuning is controlled individually for each wheel depending on driving style, road surface conditions, and the selected suspension setting. Further components of the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension include the additional RACE drive mode and two sets of different steering characteristics for AMG speed-sensitive sports steering.
AMG Performance 4MATIC.
As a standard feature of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45, performance-oriented all-wheel drive always ensures the best possible combination of dynamism, traction and efficiency. A multi-disc clutch with AMG-specific electrohydraulic control integrated into the rear-axle differential allows for spontaneously variable torque distribution. This ranges from highly economical pure front-wheel drive, for constant highway driving, for example, to a 50:50 distribution for dynamic driving maneuvers, snow, or slippery surfaces. The all-wheel drive system is controlled in accordance with the selected three-stage ESP® Electronic Stability Program setting — ranging from safety-oriented/sporty to the best-possible performance on dedicated race tracks.
