Numerous design elements lend the exterior an even more dynamic and athletic character. These include striking AMG bodystyling comprising AMG front apron with distinctively sporty air intakes with crisscross grille and silver chrome trim, AMG side sill panels and AMG diffuser-look rear apron with insert in matte iridium silver and 45.7 cm (18-inch) AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black with a high-sheen finish. The two tailpipe trim elements with four-pipe look, the AMG spoiler lip and also elements in matte aluminum such as the exterior mirror housing, the beltlines and window weather strips, round off the vehicle's dynamic look. The "BITURBO 4MATIC" badge on the front wings and the diamond radiator grille with chrome pins and a high-gloss black louvre with chrome insert indicate the sporty exclusivity of the exterior.
AMG Exhaust System.
AMG typical, throaty sound or reserved noise level – the acoustics of the AMG sports exhaust system adjust to the selected transmission mode. The double-declutching function when downshifting underscores the sporty vehicle setup in transmission mode "S." In transmission mode "S+" the V6 engine sound is at its most emotional – with double-declutching function and misfire in overrun mode as well as during gear shifting. The two chrome-plated tailpipe trim elements bring the sporty character of the AMG sports exhaust system to life on a visual level. They are separated by a centerpiece, thus creating a four-pipe look.
As an optional extra for the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Cabriolet, the driver can decide for the AMG Performance exhaust system. Three variably adjustable exhaust flaps are used to adapt the sound to the selected transmission mode. The driver can also change the sound characteristics at the press of a button. This allows a maximum spread of the sound, from comfortable to highly emotive.
Sports Braking System.
The sports braking system features internally ventilated compound brake discs at the front and rear. The gray brake calipers with "AMG" lettering in black at the front give the braking system a high quality and sporty character.
Features of the sports braking system:
Front axle: brake discs measuring 360 x 36 mm, internally ventilated and perforated, with four-piston aluminum fixed calipers and black "AMG" lettering.
Rear axle: brake discs measuring 320 x 24 mm, internally ventilated with one-piston floating caliper to fulfill electric parking brake function.
The Mercedes-AMG C 43 Cabriolet comes as standard with 45.7 cm (18-inch) AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black and with a high-sheen finish, fitted with 225/45 R 18 tires at the front and 245/40 R 18 at the rear.
In addition, 48.3 cm (19-inch) AMG light-alloy wheels painted in titanium gray and with a high-sheen finish, or painted in high-gloss black and with a high-sheen finish are available as an optional extra. Furthermore, 48.3 cm (19-inch) AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in titanium gray with a high-sheen finish or painted in high-gloss black with a high-sheen finish are optionally available.

The interior of the AMG C 43 Cabriolet is a sight to behold: Drivers can expect an authentic sports car atmosphere, with multifunction sports steering wheel with flattened bottom section, sports seats with enhanced lateral support and an exclusive AMG instrument cluster with AMG menu. The seat covers, door center panels and also the upper part of the dashboard and beltlines are finished with red topstitching, a feature which is typical of the 43-series models. Ultimately, what counts in a Cabriolet is the surroundings – inside and out.

The premium, sporty interior includes standard equipment such as the three-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, red seat belts and brushed stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs. Sports seats in ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA, floor mats with red edging and "AMG" lettering plus red contrasting topstitching complete the high-quality appearance of the interior.
The AMG instrument cluster with its two-tube design round dials and backplate with checkered flag design and the 13.97 cm (5.5-inch) multifunction display present all information clearly to the driver. The upper part of the dashboard and the beltlines in ARTICO man-made leather, controls in silver chrome, and high-quality light longitudinal-grain aluminum trim add premium touches to the interior.
An even more comprehensive lighting system for the interior, and improved visibility of the vehicle itself, are guaranteed courtesy of the interior light package, with its indirect illumination of the footwells and handle recesses, LED rear reading lights or courtesy and warning lights in the doors.
The sports seats in ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA microfiber with AMG-specific seat upholstery layout are not only implying AMG typical sportiness. More contouring and higher seat side bolsters at the front provide optimized lateral support and brace the passengers during dynamic cornering.
As an optional extra, AMG Performance seats are available for the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Cabriolet. The contouring of the side bolsters for the seat cushion and backrest offers superior lateral support, while the seat design gives the interior a sporty and distinctive look.
AMG Steering Wheel.
A fitting complement to the sporty handling is the three-spoke nappa leather multifunction sports steering wheel with flat bottom. The 12 ergonomic control buttons of the leather multifunction steering wheel allow the display menus of the instrument cluster and the audio/COMAND display to be controlled on the left. On the right, the driver can control the volume of audio devices, telephone and navigation system. The convincing looks and touch and feel comes in part also courtesy of loving details such as red contrasting topstitching, the molded grip area, steering wheel paddle shifters and the silver chrome steering wheel trim.
As an optional extra for the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Cabriolet, the driver can decide for the AMG Performance steering wheel in black nappa leather/DINAMICA microfiber. For an even better grip, it features the grip area finished in DINAMICA microfiber. The black 12-o'clock marking, a steering wheel bezel in silver chrome with "AMG" lettering, and silver-colored aluminum shift paddles round off the sporty design.
AMG Instrument Cluster.
The AMG instrument cluster, with its two large round dials and a central color multifunction display with a 13.97 cm screen diagonal, presents all important items of information in the driver's field of vision. There is a tube-look for the round dials, which have single glazing and a chrome frame. An ECO display helps the driver to adopt a particularly fuel-efficient style of driving. The speedometer is on the left and its scale goes up to 280 km/h, the rev counter on the right.
The checkered flag-look for the dials and striking typography add an exceptionally sporty touch to the large displays. Bar graph displays for fuel level and coolant temperature respectively are positioned at the bottom. Depending on the selected equipment, the speedometer may incorporate a DISTRONIC PLUS display in the form of a LED light strip. The color multifunction display shows the time and outside temperature as well as the gear stage currently engaged in conjunction with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS at the bottom, while the trip counter, trip information, ECO display and the animated presentation of the driver assistance systems are located in the middle of the display. The different items of information available on the multifunction display can be called up and edited using the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel. As soon as the vehicle enters overrun mode, the appropriate icon is shown in addition.
AMG Door Sill Panels.
A feature to catch the eye when entering the vehicle: the high-quality door sill panels with "AMG" lettering protect the entrance area, individualize the looks of the vehicle and underscore the heritage of the car.
Life already demands more than enough sensible solutions. When it came to developing the C-Class Cabriolet, we focused entirely on one objective – maximum sport. With 270 kW (367 hp), a three-liter V6 biturbo and AMG Performance 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive, the C 43 Cabriolet is never a choice for the happy medium, but always the fast lane.

The 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine stands out for its state-of-the-art injection technology and mixture formation, resulting in maximum power combined with low fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. Delivering 270 kW (367 hp) and 520 newton meters, the V6 unit sets new standards for Driving Performance in its segment — underlined by a 0-100 km/h acceleration of breathtaking 4.7 seconds.
9G-TRONIC with shortened shift times.
Featuring nine forward gears, this automatic transmission takes efficiency, comfort and dynamism to a completely new level. It is the world's first 9-speed automatic transmission with hydrodynamic torque converter in the premium segment. The larger ratio range allows a reduction in engine speed, performance remains excellent while ride comfort is enhanced and noise levels are reduced. Smaller gear ratio increments and faster gear changes lead to even greater responsiveness and agility. At the same time, 9G-TRONIC impresses with smooth, barely perceptible gear shifting like that of a continuously variable transmission. As 9G-TRONIC is able to skip individual gears, multiple downshifts are possible for fast and powerful sprints. The shift characteristics can be preset from economical to dynamic with the transmission modes "Economy," "Sport" and "Manual." "Economy+" allows especially fuel-efficient driving thanks to the transition to overrun mode in the speed range between 60 and 160 km/h. Sporty drivers can change gear manually using the DIRECT SELECT steering wheel gearshift paddles — as in motorsports.
AMG PERFORMANCE 4MATIC.
The performance-oriented all-wheel drive developed by Mercedes-AMG combines optimum traction, hallmark AMG driving dynamics and maximum driving pleasure. This is ensured by the clear torque distribution to the rear. Unlike in the standard model, Mercedes-AMG distributes the engine torque in a ratio of 31% to the front axle and 69% to the rear axle. In addition, AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive increases driving safety and traction on wet or wintry road surfaces.
A multiple-disc clutch with 50 Nm blocking effect guarantees full realization of the road adhesion potential of all four wheels, especially on snow or ice. This basic concept enables high-traction values because it uses the dynamic axle load shift toward the rear axle, which occurs during acceleration, for adding additional drive torque to the rear. In addition to traction and transverse dynamics, the all-wheel drive also improves the longitudinal dynamics of the vehicle for even more dynamic acceleration.
AMG RIDE CONTROL Sports Suspension.
With its adjustable, electronically controlled damping system, this steel chassis provides both sporty driving dynamics as well as brand-typical comfort on long journeys. The basis for this comes courtesy of a four-link front axle and a multi-link independent rear suspension. The AMG-specific kinematics and elastokinematics with newly developed components result in very high camber stability during dynamic cornering and at the same time improve comfort. The racing-oriented, radial brake connection on the front axle supports agile, precise handling. The driver is able to manually adjust the suspension to the three settings of "Comfort," "Sport" and "Sport+" — from highly comfortable to sporty and firm, for example for fast cornering. The damping system is continuously in operation. This improves handling safety and road roar and tire vibration characteristics. The damping tuning is controlled individually for each wheel and is dependent on the driving style, the road surface condition and the selected suspension setting.
