The new Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC is powered by a newly developed 2-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with 225 kW (306 horsepower) of performance that will accelerate you from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. With 4-wheel drive as standard, the power is full variable from exclusive front-wheel to a 50:50 distribution between front and rear axle. The AMG Performance 4MATIC drive combines the best possible traction with the best possible driving experience. 2.0-litre Four-Cylinder Turbo Engine.
The lightweight engine impresses with its pulling power and flexible turbocharging concept based on output level. The CAMTRONIC variable valve control also underscores the high technological standards aimed at low fuel consumption.
- Crankcase (engine block) in high-strength, lightweight die-cast aluminium – reduces vehicle weight in areas of significance for driving dynamics
- Intelligent thermal management, for example one valve blocks the coolant when starting up – engine and oil heat up quicker and thereby work more efficiently
- Piezo injectors require limited installation space and inject the fuel extremely precisely – this reduces emissions and makes idling quieter
- Multispark ignition, after the initial sparks up to four further sparks can be discharged at lightning speed - this way the precisely metered petrol-air mixture is always ignited to optimum effect
- A turbocharger controls the charge pressure electronically – more flexibly, more quickly and more accurately, primarily in the partial load range
- Twinscroll turbocharger (for 225 kW model) with twin-pipe exhaust routing - this builds up charge pressure in an even more agile manner and the engine responds more directly and more sharply to the accelerator pedal
- Petrol particulate filter – for clean emissions

The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G transmission is your ideal partner for a sporty driving style. If required the dual clutch transmission can inspire with extremely fast gear changes, but also boasts comfort-oriented, barely imperceptible shifting. As such you can enjoy the best of both worlds – racing or comfort on long journeys, you decide!
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT.
Just drive as you want to. At the press of a button DYNAMIC SELECT offers different drive programs with setting options for the engine, transmission, chassis and steering, for instance. With the Sport mode you drive decidedly dynamically, and with the basic program Comfort very harmoniously. ECO, on the other hand, places the emphasis on maximum efficiency and saves fuel and money.
