Motorsport is what drives us.
Since 2011, our customers have been contributing to AMG’s huge heritage in motorsport. And they have been doing so with huge success: in the maiden year of the Customer Racing programme, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 already showed its potential and emerged as the best newcomer in motorsport. Straight away, the gullwing racked up one success after another and won numerous titles. In 2013, winning the races at Dubai, Bathurst, the Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps meant the ‘grand slam’ of the GT3 endurance racing classics. As the successor, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 has been continuing the story since 2016: in the Nürburgring 24-hour race, the first four positions and sixth place went to the Mercedes-AMG GT3. The historic quadruple victory marks the biggest success to date for Mercedes-AMG’s involvement in customer racing. Over the years, the programme itself was continuously developed as well, from the expanding support offering and the increasing internationalisation to the introduction of the Mercedes-AMG Performance Teams.
